#2.1.3 Gojira Era

Scale it is our second theme and is about comparing size, sometimes with an artistic way and sometimes with a basic and practical way.

The Series #1 is composed of the three posters : Mountains of Japan is the first poster of this series, representing the nature and the wilderness in Japan. Towers of Japan is representing the urbanisation side of Japan. Gojira Era is representing something more particular closing the gap of the other two and bringing a bit of chaos...

The Series #1 of the 3 posters is also available as a set price!

Gojira Era - Fun Facts

Gojira is the Japanese and original name and it might be more known outside of Japan as Godzilla. Its name ゴジラ (pronounce it like "go dji ra") comes from its original description as a combination of a gorilla and a whale for its power, its incredible size and its aquatic capabilities and origins.

The Gojira's appearance was done by an actor in a suit until 1998! The suits could weight as much as 100kg and had no sort of ventilation for the actor until 1994.  Eiji Tsuburaya, who was the special effect director and co-creator of the Gojira series, wanted initially to use stop-motion but could not do it due to lack of animators in Japan and tough deadlines... Finally, this technique became really popular amongst the monster movies (Kaiju movies) and was called the "suitmation".

Gojira has its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2004 and is even an official tourism ambassador in Shinjuku, Tokyo since 2015!

You can even say hi to him in Kabukicho, just look up and find its head somewhere above the buildings.
